Positioned in the East China Sea – 100km west of Naha City – is the island of Kume. The island has been known as the “Beauty of the Ryukyus” since the days of the Ryukyu Kingdom.
Thanks to the Kuroshio Current, Kume Island is blessed with wonderful fishing grounds. The deep-sea water found off of the coasts of Kume Island is very clean. It is virtually untouched by microbes and other harmful materials due to its low temperature.
